The Holidays are Here

The holidays have somehow crept up on us this year faster than usual. All of the sudden we have been thrown into mall Santas and maxing out credit cards when yesterday we were just stuffing ourselves with turkey and pumpkin pie. However, this means a new array of desserts are just waiting to be enjoyed. This means cool crisp flavors as well as warming favorites will be gracing the pages of my website and maybe your table. In comes the peppermint, cranberry, orange, chocolate, sugar cookies, ginger cookies, thumbprint cookies, truffles, and many more delicious holiday favorites.

Fall Baking

Spiced Pumpkin Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

It's finally fall! Fall is my favorite season of the year, next to winter. I love the leaves, the cool, brisk air, and the wonderful baked goods! I love all the food of the fall season. How can you go wrong with pumpkin, pecans, and cinnamon? It's a classic and warming combination of ingredients that fill me with excitement. I have collected some of my favorite fall cakes, cookies, etc. in my holiday baking section. These items are perfect for any occasion whether it be a family gathering, or just a fall sweet tooth. If you have anything you would like to have that isn't listed, I would be more than happy to find the perfect recipe and make it for you. This fall don't just pick up pumpkin pie from walmart or the freezer section (shudder), instead make your fall season the best it can be and take one of these baked goods with you to the Thanksgiving dessert table! I promise you will definitely be the favorite.

New Creations

On this page I will be adding all of my new successes in baking, that hopefully you might want to try. I am trying to branch out and try new things that will challenge me. I hope you enjoy this page as much as I do!

French Macaroons- these are wonderfully light, crisp, yet chewy cookies that fill you with delight in the two small bites it takes to eat one. I have tried many different combinations, but if you have any other ideas of what you might like to try let me know- makes about 12-15 1" sandwich cookies
-Vanilla Bean with Vanilla Buttercream
-Matcha Tea with Chocolate Ganache
-Cardamom with Orange Cream
-Chocolate with Chocolate Ganache
-Raspberry with swirled chocolate ganache and raspberry buttercream

Ice Cream- this is not ice cream I simply buy from the store, but rich, decadent, and flavorful. These are the reicpes I have conquered so far and they are all divine- makes about a quart- a quart and a half of ice cream
-Vanilla Bean
-Salted Butter Caramel
-Butter Pecan

Red Velvet Cheesecake- this isn't really something completely new for me, but it is so stunning, I thought it deserved to be in my new creations section. This cheesecake is absolutely gorgeous, reminiscent of a red velvet cake it is a deep red hue with a hint of chocolate on top of a chocolate graham cracker crumb crust covered with a cream cheese frosting. This is perfect for Valentine's Day or any occasion you want to stun people. - Makes one 9" cheesecake serves 12-14

Baking is a Sickness

I'm Katie, and as most of the people who will look at this site know, I love to bake! I have been giving and sharing my cookies, pastries, and cakes with people since I started baking. Now, it's getting to the point that I bake something every weekend and then give it away the next week. I have had more and more people tell me that I should sell what I bake. So, I thought, why not. Thus, I will now be attempting to "start my own business" if you want to call it that. I have put a menu of what I will be offering on this website and pictures of some of the baked goods that I have made. I will only be able to bake on the weekends mostly, since I'm still in school, and I will have to limit the amount of orders I can fill. If you want something baked for a specific date please try to give a week or two advanced notice. If you want something that is not listed, just ask me and I will see if I can do it. I hope this will help cure my baking sickness and your sweet tooth!
